It's All about the Striped Turtlenecks & Puffy Shoulders

I'm a sucker for a striped top.  I have more than a few in my closet — short sleeve, long sleeve, sweaters — when I can't figure out what to wear, I know that I can throw on some stripes with skinny jeans.

If I’m going casual, I’ll wear sneakers and if it’s dressy, a pair of stilettos. A swipe of red lipstick and I'm done. It always works. When Gretta Monahan (my bff and stylist on The Kitchen) showed me this ALC striped turtleneck with puffy sleeve, I swooned.  It was love at first sight.  We paired it with Ulla Johnson's wide-leg dark denim jumpsuit and blue Chloe cropped Western boots.  I think the turtleneck would look great with jeans and a ponytail or even black dress pants, a simple heel, and hoop earrings.  A sparkly top paired with the jumpsuit would be perfect for holiday season.

SHOP THE LOOK

Julie Tussey, my long-time make-up artist, chose a “peaches and cream” color palette to keep the look fresh and youthful.  She used RMS eye gloss in Lucky, Burt’s Bees eyeshadow in Blooming Desert and Warm Peach blush, and finished it off with Avon lip gloss in Ambience.

I put together some fun options to recreate the look here (all of the items I wore can be found at Gretta Luxe).  I’d love to see how you style something similar, so post a pic and tag me!
