Bacon-Wrapped Dates

Also known as ‘Devils on Horseback’. People go crazy for these bite-size snacks, which only take minutes to prepare. This is an easy recipe to experiment with-you can substitute almonds for the pecans, prunes for the dates, or prosciutto for the bacon.

Bacon-Wrapped Dates

Cook time: 8 min

Total time: 23 min

Yield: 12 servings (24 pieces)

Ingredients

  • 24 pecan halves
  • 24 pitted dates
  • 8 slices of bacon (not thick-cut), cut cross-wise into thirds
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups mango chutney

Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Insert a pecan half into each date. Wrap with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on prepared baking sheet. Bake until bacon is crisp, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain on a paper towel and serve with mango chutney for dipping.
